The Spruce top Tattoo Concert offers a unique perspective with an alternative background for the laser-etched Tattoo design, which takes its inspiration from Hawaiian body ornamentation. Through a sacred inking process, the ancient Polynesian people believed getting inked was a divine course and a bold statement. Patterns and layout were strongly geometric with many shapes and symbols representative of the natural island world: stones, waves, fish, sharks, turtles, rain, sun, birds. This design is primarily based on waves and sharks' teeth which are also echoed as fret markers. Expect warm tone from the eastern mahogany concert body, spruce top and walnut fingerboard. Artistry meets function
Luna was co-founded by Yvonne de Villiers, an accomplished stained-glass artist who wanted to design instruments that captured a unique artistic vision as well as great playability. The design on the Tattoo Mahogany is representative of that vision and is a truly unique visual delight.
